Bol, Croatia

Bol is a family-friendly vacation destination with a laid-back attitude, great local food and wine, sports activities, and the stunning Adriatic Sea.

About

Beaches

Bol is home to the most famous beach in Croatia, Zlatni Rat. With many smaller beaches as well, there's always the perfect place to swim and soak up the sun.

Sports

If you're interested in family-friendly sports, you'll find it easy to play tennis, hike, mountain bike, scuba dive, and more. Bol also has some of the best surfing winds on the coast, so if you're an old pro or just a beginner, you can kitesurf and windsurf most days.

Food & drink

If you're a food and drink lover, you can find some of the region's most delicious wine and fresh fish in almost any restaurant. Not to mention, most establishments make homemade liquor that has the flavor of the island cooked in.

Local culture

During the summer months, Bol invites artists to perform around the town and hosts local art shows that are always worth a visit. You'll also find local farmers' markets, daily fresh catch at the local fishmonger, and fun for the whole family on Wednesday nights' carnival-style "Fishermen's Nights." You can also stop by the Dominican Monastery Museum for a dive into local history.

Getting around

Bol is completely manageable on foot. We do not recommend renting a car. You can get from one side to the other by walking, in about 1 hour.
